I was glued to the TV all night.  And at 8pm PST when CNN projected that Obama Barack will become our 44th President, I clapped out loud and actually found myself getting all misty-eyed. 

I am so glad that our long, long national nightmare under the reign of Bush is nearly over and that we can now have hope for our future.  Hope that our respect will be restored with countries all over the world.  Hope that I can once again be proud to say that I am an American.  

I am also thrilled that America has overcome its long, ugly past of racism and elected her first non-white President.  I am overjoyed that black people all over the country can wake up the next morning and say with pride that America has elected one of their own as President.

I am truly happy tonight, and look forward to our future with hope!
