Running at night in DC is so different from during the day. There’s a inherent, almost inconceivable peace and quiet while running along Ohio Drive and the National Mall. During the day, those areas are teeming with tourists and its almost like running an obstacle course, complete with moving obstacles to track around. At night, it’s just you, your thoughts, the occasional late night stroller or jogger. I felt great tonight, and maintained a good pace.

Today’s route: 8 miles, 1 hr. 14 min.

Didn’t have much time in the night to do a run, so made it short and fast.

Today’s route: 2.3 miles, 19min 28sec.

Back on the program! Hot muggy morning, but it was a good strong run compared to sunday’s slugfest with the six-miler and oppressive heat.
