Anna Nicole Smith

You read it here first. I bet after the paternity tests are done on the baby girl, it’ll be revealed that NONE of the guys who say they’re the father are a match. With all the bizaarre twists and turns of this ongoing saga.. this is only appropriate… even expected.

Blowoff

Last week I had a party at my house, which was a blockbuster, I originally planned to invite like 20 people, and ended up inviting 50, and over 80 showed up. The only crimp of the evening was that the liquor ran out halfway thru the night. I’ll have to order vodka by the gallon next time.

When the clock struck midnight, the boys and I headed over to the 9:30 club for the monthly “Blowoff” party. While in my room getting my coat, i stood there for a few minutes debating whether I should bring my camera or not.

Lucky (or not so lucky) for you all, I did.

DJ Booth in the back – I’ve noticed that high saturation colors will bloom very easily at high ISO with the 5D. Hopefully the next generation DSLRs will fix that.

Leo, Chris and Jab do the drunk friends pose. Jab apparently can’t keep his head still enough.

Pretty abstract picture of a cheap plastic cup holding $6 worth of vodka and O.J.

Some random dude, Leo, Andy and some other random dude. Leo has a kneejerk reaction to having his picture taken.

3 A.M. and the party’s dying down…

Grace

Grace
I can’t quite put my finger on why I like this picture so much. Technically speaking, it’s kinda flat and lacking on sharpness. The kind of pictures you get when shooting wide-open, 1/25 shutterspeed under shitty lighting, all of it coming from the wrong direction in a VFW Lodge. And oh yeah, you can see that my thousand-dollar prime vignettes like a five-buck-whore at f/1.4.

But yet, it just keeps banging around in my head, “what pictures do i like the best?” “oh yeah, the barefoot girl in the plaid dress and the shoes cast off in the corner is one of them.” And why do I suppose I like it so much… the slow blur of the a graceful girl bringing her hands and feet together in a classical ballernia pose, her feet freed of the tryanny of ill-fitting shoes and that stray lock of hair falling down her face? and yeah.. the vignetting adds character here, actually.

well anyway, this here is one of my favorites. i’ll be sharing more…
